About Us
Palmetto Performance Garage is a Florida automotive shop built around transmission rebuilding, engine building and performance powertrain work — with general repair and mobile mechanic service for everything on the road around it.
The Shop
Most repair shops are set up to move a lot of vehicles through quickly. That works fine for an oil change. It works less well when a transmission needs to come apart and go back together to specification, or when an engine has to be built around a specific power goal.
Palmetto Performance Garage was set up around that second kind of work. Transmission rebuilding and engine building are the core of the business — not a service sent out to someone else, and not a sideline squeezed in between general repairs.
That said, we still do the everyday work. Diagnostics, mechanical repair, maintenance and mobile service matter to the people who depend on their vehicles, and doing them well is how most customers first find us. It also means when your transmission eventually needs attention, you already know who to call.
The approach is straightforward: diagnose before you quote, explain what you found, build to specification, and be honest when a job isn't worth doing. If a unit is past saving, or a build goal doesn't make sense for the vehicle, we'll tell you — an honest no costs you less than an expensive yes.

What Sets Us Apart
Many general repair shops send transmission and engine work out, or replace the unit instead of repairing it. We do the rebuilding in-house — it's the core of what this shop does.
A rebuild is only the right answer if it's the right answer. We inspect and evaluate first so you're not paying for work the vehicle didn't need.
Clearances and specifications are what make a rebuild last. That attention to detail is the difference between a repair and a repair that holds.
A daily driver, a truck that tows, and a car making serious power need different builds. We build for the application in front of us.
General repair, diagnostics, engine and transmission rebuilding, performance upgrades, and mobile service — you're not coordinating between three different businesses.
If a build isn't worth doing, or a unit is past saving, we'll say so. An honest 'no' costs you less than an expensive 'yes'.
